not sure if its better if she's talking to Anakin or Obi-Wan but the mental image I currently have of both of them is highly amusing
Just been thinking about these two lately. You can’t tell me they wouldn’t just *vibe* (while Obi-Wan deals with the mega migraine).

Thinking about force ghost Anakin playing peekaboo with Grogu
Also Din being freaked the fuck out by the idea of a force ghost. Especially bc he can’t see them. The first time things get hot and heavy between him and Luke, Luke is all distracted and glaring into nowhere, goes bright pink when Din asks why he’s glaring into the corner mouthing something - and it turns out to be Yoda lecturing Luke on attachments. It takes a while before Din stops asking if they’re alone in between make out sessions
Or Luke’s last blue milk pudding going missing, and Din blames it on Grogu (bc nobody can ever stay mad at his sweet little face.) but Anakin, who absolutely adores Grogu, and is still of the belief that nobody is good enough for Luke, pops up to tell Luke that it was Din. That he and Obi Wan saw it with their own eyes!
And Din immediately realising what happened as soon as Luke turns to him and glares, arms crossed disappointedly. 1. For eating it. 2. For blaming their sweet, innocent son. When he leaves the room, after being assured that it would be replaced, Din is glaring around the room grumbling about being ratted out
Picturing him sneakily eating it and out loud asking that they please don’t tell Luke. He’ll talk to an empty room, bc he’s mildly uncomfortable with their presence
(Much like Mike from BBC Ghosts)
But mostly, thinking about Anakin dorkily crouched down playing peekaboo. Luke finds it endearing - feels good about seeing a soft side of his father, what he might have been like/what he was like pre-dark side. And Din one day just seeing Grogu giggling and clapping at nothing and being uncomfortable/creeped out as fuck. Like when a cat meows/stares at an empty corner of a room

Pls feel free to ignore but can I get some soft protective Obi-Wan? I’m going through it at the moment ❤️❤️😍 So happy to see you emerge!
i am so happy to be back! i hope you feel better soon <3
obi-wan is very understanding that you can look out for yourself and that you don't need his protection, but the minute he thinks you're going to be hurt, he's there no questions asked.
maybe you're in battle together, or you've just come back and you're injured; the poor man is trying to walk the line between showing you he cares and not outing your relationship to the council
so really, his main thing is getting you somewhere private. obi-wan is a strangely good liar, and he's pulling you away from the nurse droids, murmuring something about a fear of medical spaces and really, it would be better if i treated them so we can have a mission debrief
it works. probably because they're droids and they're not programmed to argue about these things. also, why he is panicking about outing your relationship to droids, who are also not programmed to give a fuck about that probably? just realised that as i'm typing. but it seems like the kind of silly thing that would r/whoosh over obi's head so. i'm going to keep it.
anyways, he has you on his bed in seconds, hands roaming all over your arms, whispers of i'm so glad you're okay and where does it hurt? and tell me what you need, my love.
it takes you a second to get your brain in order, mostly because you're probably concussed and the room is spinning, but it's something he deduces quickly.
after babysitting anakin for years, his medicine cabinet is actually better equipped than the jedi infirmary so whatever injury you have, he's got something to help it.
you don't say much whilst he's bandaging you up - you just let him do his work. more for his sake than for yours, because you don't care if you're a bit dizzy for a few days or that your bruises might linger, but he definitely does.
once you're a bit more with it, that's when obi becomes especially affectionate. he just sorta lays there with you, arms around you and holding you to his chest.
that's when you both calm down, just listening to each other's heartbeats and taking comfort in the fact that once again, you made it home safe, and you're both alive and well. alive and mostly well, in your case.
of course, there's a lecture about safety in the morning
but you've come to enjoy those too

CodyWan Wekk Day 7: Modern AU - Academia
Cody loved all aspects of Pride.
Most of his queer brothers tended to show up mostly for the parties, and obviously they all went to the Parade, but he always tried to take in as many of the lectures and panel discussions as possible, too. Not that he objected to a good party, but the educational program tended to be so <i>interesting</i>.
This one was shaping up to be especially so, though in a rather different way than Cody was used to.
It was a lecture by some big shot academic especially invited for this purpose from London, about LGBTQIA+ in different religious traditions across time. Religion wasn’t normally Cody’s area of interest, but he’d decided to come and listen to this, given how prestigious the guest was.
He was already feeling grateful he had, because even if nothing else came of it, the guy was hot.
He seemed to be in his mid thirties or so, so older than Cody but not so much that it would be a problem, and he had long red hair tied in a bun and beard that made Cody wish he could feel it absolutely everywhere. He was very glad now that he’d picked the first row and would have a completely unobstructed view. Even if the lecture was completely boring, he’d leave happy.
And then the guy started speaking.
“Good afternoon, everyone,” he said in a perfect honeyed voice that had Cody melting. “My name is Obi-Wan Kenobi, and I want to thank you for your attendance and the warm welcome,” he nodded to the host. “This is my first time in Prague, actually, but it will definitely not be the last. Now, to start, I should clarify that I will not focus on modern Christianity much. Frankly, there is enough information about that out there, and there are better qualified people to speak on it. So if you came here for Christianity, sorry to say, you would be better served by some other events. Now, let’s get to it…”
Cody was falling in love.
The feeling only intensified as the lecture went on, discussing different examples from across history and showing what the different approaches had in common and how they differed, dazzling Cody with the simple array of options that existed in approaches to gender and sexuality.
When it came to questions, his hand was one of the first ones up.
“Hello, my name is Cody, and my question is, do you believe we can take inspiration from any of these approaches?” He asked Kenobi when his turn came.
Kenobi looked at him, and then his eyes seemed to sort of snag. “Thank you for the lovely question,” he said slowly, still keeping his eyes on Cody, “but sadly, I’m afraid that it would be rather complicated. All of these approaches I described were rooted in wider cultural ideas and social structure that I didn’t get time to get into here, so that without them, they wouldn’t work.”
Cody frowned, not sure exactly what to imagine with such a brief description. “Could you give an example…?”
“I can try a brief one, but if you are interested in this in detail, I can also recommend some books - come speak to me after the lecture.”
Well, that was just the perfect invitation, so of course Cody did. He wasn’t sure he would be actually reading those books, but a chance to speak to Kenobi one on one was too good to pass up on.
He did, indeed, get a list of books, and then Kenobi said: “Actually, I will be starting a new job here in Prague in the autumn, at the Faculty of Arts, so you could always come to some of my lectures that will be dealing with that, too.”
Oh. Oh.
“That is an absolutely irresistible invitation,” Cody said, leaning just a bit closer and carefully observing Kenobi’s reaction.
His eyes went to Cody’s lips. <i>Score.</i>
“...but if I may, I would extend an invitation for something a little bit sooner, and perhaps a little bit more personal…?”
“Why, Cody,” Kenobi replied, “this is what I would call irresistible.”
-
It's Pride this week in Prague and I wanted to honour it somehow. It's nicely symbolic to have CodyWan week at the same time, though it also means I have less time for writing because of all the Pride events. Anyway, today is Parade Day, so have an academic Pride fic that was very vaguely inspired by the lecture about same-sex marriage in Catholic theology I attended yesterday. Happy Pride to any Czechs reading this!

Do you guys ever wonder if Obi-Wan had a moment where he just, I don't know, sat down and thought about the sheer number of Sith coming after him and only him specifically?
I know it's pretty much just a meme at this point in the SW fandom that Obi-Wan has something like a sixth sense or something for attracting literally almost every Dark Side user in the nearest vicinity.
But, like ... if you remember how Obi-Wan is potrayed as a Jedi Initiate and later on as a Padawan, it's kinda crazy/hilarious to think about how this super anxious and emotional kid, who constantly questioned whether he would ever measure up to the expectations placed on him (by himself and others), went on to not only become one of the most famous Jedi in the galaxy but also a sort of legend in his own right. And then straight up became so popular that even the Sith couldn't ignore him.
And this arguably all sort of started after he defeated Maul (for the first time), who was believed at the time to be the first Sith/Sith Lord to appear in over a millenium. And not only did he gain the title of Sith Killer, but he later joined the Jedi Council as one of their youngest members and then went on to play a pivotal role in the Clone Wars as High General.
Like ... he was already a pretty big deal in his own right before the Clone Wars even began. But once the war was in full swing, the man never fucking stopped.
Besides obvious plot and writing reasons, it does sort of make sense then for all these Sith and Dark Side users to constantly target Obi-Wan. I mean, what Sith wouldn't wanna have at least one go at the legendary "Sith Killer?" Why wouldn't they want to test their abilities against a famous Jedi, especially when their head honcho Sith Lord is all but begging them to do everything they can to just fucking end him?
But then, of course, because Obi-Wan is Obi-Wan and he's never one to back down from a challenge, I do find it very compelling and hilarious that his go to reaction when faced with a Sith/Dark Sider is to just taunt and drag them for filth. It's almost like he can't help himself. He's just so clearly unimpressed with them and it's really funny to see the Sith/Dark Sider he's facing get riled up over that. They take is so fucking personally. Every. Single. Time.
Like: "How fucking dare he not take me seriously! How dare he imply that I'm not his equal! How dare he criticize my fashion sense and my abilities in the force! How dare he try to lecture me on the better way to execute my attacks (even if that was actually sort of helpful advice, but I will die before I ever admit that)!"
The fucking gall of this guy, amiright fellas?
So to get back to my original point: Do you guys think Obi-Wan ever regretted his flirting/taunting tactics? Because clearly all those ever did was sort of encourage the Sith/Dark Siders he faced to become a little bit more obsessed with him. Maybe even a little enamored (not in a romantic sense, but no shame to those who like this interpretation). It's weird 'cause aside from Darth Sidious, most of the Sith Obi-Wan encounters seem to sort of respect him? If not on an individual level, at they very least they respect him as a worthy opponent and fighter.
(Small aside: I don't know if I'd go so far as to say Maul ever truly respected Obi-Wan. I'm sure on some level he must have because he literally made obsessing over Obi-Wan his entire personality. But I'd concede that maybe somewhere, deep deep DEEP down in his tiny little cockroach of a heart, Maul respected Obi-Wan enough to at least hate him to the point that even death could not stop him from continuing to wreak havoc on his life.)
And while, yes, this tactic is very amusing to watch and clearly a quite successful one ... I can't help but wonder if maybe it works a little too well. Lord knows Anakin/Darth Vader and Maul never got over Obi-Wan's little taunts. And Asajj seemed to all but look forward to trading witty remarks with him at every given opportunity, even when they were temporary allies. Dooku, of course, basically went full grandpa mode trying to reconnect with his grandson and then took full offense to said grandson not buying into his Sithy bullshit. Obi-Wan didn't even give Dooku a chance to finish submitting his request for adoption/Force custody before dragging his ass for failing Qui-Gon.
I'm almost willing to bet that if Obi-Wan had been alone in a room with Darth Sidious (master plan and true identity fully revealed), Sheev would just withered to an even wrinklier raisin after the absolute READ Obi-Wan would have given him.
Tldr: I just think the idea of a worn out Obi-Wan lying face down on the floor while regretting all his life choices--mainly the whole "I must throw my opponents off by flirting as much as possible. Yes, this is an actual tactic and not am excusable way I can be petty while not violating the Jedi Code"--is a fucking hilarious mental image.

summary: obi-wan lectures you about being safe, only for him to get hurt in the end.
word count: 1,177
warnings?: brief (and badly described) fighting, obi-wan is injured, not proofread
If you were honest, you were surprised that Obi-Wan Kenobi would take on another Padawan. Not that that was a bad Master, or that you weren’t learning a lot from him. But, no one could deny that, despite Anakin Skywalker becoming a Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan still seemed like he had a lot to teach his former Padawan. Still, Obi-Wan took you under his wing. He showed you what it meant to be a Jedi. But, to his chagrin, you turned out to be a lot more like Anakin than he anticipated. Between you, Anakin, and Anakin’s own Padawan Ahsoka, you were sure that Obi-Wan was going to be sent into cardiac arrest from all of the antics.
His worry only skyrocketed when you were on the battlefield. You were more than capable at combat, but you had a flair for the dramatics. A tendency to forgo your own safety if it meant seeing something through until the end. But who could blame you? This was a war. You were fighting for the Republic, for everything it stood for, for everything it could be. If you were willing to lay down your life for it all, what was the point?
Besides, there was a sort of…fun that could be had in battle. Especially when you were fighting a droid army. Being able to pick apart their weaknesses, to see the flaws in their strategy, to feel the adrenaline coursing through your veins. It was…exhilarating. If you were honest, a part of you felt a smidge guilty about that. Being a Jedi meant keeping the peace. Fighting was only supposed to be a last resort. Fighting this war was for the purpose of keeping the peace. It wasn’t something you were always going to be doing.
But, kriff, why did it light your soul on fire?
Obi-Wan hated that part of you. Well, not hated per se. But it was something that he took an issue with, tried to show you that there was more to being a Jedi than swinging a lightsaber and occasionally meditating. Every day, he tried to show you there was more to this life than a fight. Today was no different.
The Council sent you to a neutral planet in an effort to convince them to side with the Republic. Apparently, the resources the planet could offer would be incredibly valuable for the war effort. The sort of thing that could end the war a lot sooner. It was…imperative that negotiations went over well. Which was exactly why Obi-Wan spent the better part of the hour telling you that you could not, under any circumstances, succumb to your urges to start a fight.
“Remember, young one, we are only here to negotiate,” Obi-Wan said as you walked up to the palace. “There will be no fighting. You will not take out your lightsaber unless it is absolutely necessary—that means if the situation becomes life or death. You will not be snarky, no matter how tempting it is. Do you understand?”
“I understand.”
Unfortunately for Obi-Wan—but fortunately for you—negotiations went south…Rather quickly, in fact. But, it had nothing to do with you. No, it was actually Obi-Wan who started the fight, despite his insistence that no fight occur today. To be fair, though, you could hardly blame him for drawing his lightsaber first. Their thinly veiled threats were obvious. The fact that they had sided with the Separatists already was obvious. And then, to add the cherry on top of this shit show, a blaster was drawn on you.
All things considered, though, they didn’t put up a very strong fight. You and Obi-Wan cut through their forces with relative ease. For folks looking to pick a fight, they sure came woefully unprepared. Perhaps they assumed that a pair of Jedi coming to negotiate would be unarmed. Perhaps they were just incredibly stupid. Either way, you came out the other side relatively unscathed.
However, you could not the same about your Master. As you clipped your lightsaber back to your belt, looking around the wreckage, your gaze settled on the figure slumped against the wall. Kriff. He did not look good.
“Are you alright, Master?” you asked, walking over to him.
“Define alright.”
You sucked in a breath. Well, how the turn tables. “Do you think you can walk on your own?”
“I’m going to need a little help,” he said.
You nodded and bent down to help him. But, as you did so, an idea tickled at the back of your mind. Was it a petty idea? Sure. Then again, he had only told you to not be snarky during the negotiations. And the negotiations were over now, so…
“Remember, Master, we are only here to negotiate,” you said, throwing one of Obi-Wan’s arms around your shoulders, wrapping the other around his waist. You heaved him up so he was standing—er, well, leaning against you. You took a tentative step forward. Obi-Wan did the same. “There will be no fighting.”
“Don’t,” Obi-Wan wheezed. His words held no bite. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see him holding back a laugh.
“You will not take out your lightsaber unless it is absolutely necessary—”
Obi-Wan lifted his head to glare at you. You couldn’t help but snicker. You held back for a moment, focusing on getting Obi-Wan out of the palace and to the ship. Every step, Obi-Wan wheezed a little harder. Kriff. You hadn’t thought the fight had gone that bad.
Finally, the two of you reached the ship. Commander Cody spotted the two of you first. He surged forward, taking Obi-Wan away from you. Usually, you would have made a quip about bringing the Commander’s husband back in one piece—mostly one piece, at least. But, an inkling of concern tickled at you.
Cody led Obi-Wan onto the ship, toward the medbay. You followed after them.
“—that means life or death,” you continued.
Cody looked at you as he helped Obi-Wan onto a cot, his brows furrowed. Ah, he wouldn’t understand. He hadn’t been there for your Master’s lecture. Well, that wasn’t going to stop you from finishing your recitation.
“I get the point, young one,” Obi-Wan said, punctuating his sentence with a cough. He gave you the sternest look he could muster, which honestly looked as scary as a loth-cat kitten given his current predicament. “You don’t have to continue.”
You watched as one of the medical droids flitted around Obi-Wan, assessing the damages. “You will not be snarky,” you said.
“Ha!” Cody laughed. “He said that? What a hypocrite!”
You grinned at Cody. Obi-Wan glared at the two of you. “No matter how tempting it is.”
“You’ve made your point.”
“Do you understand?” you finished.
“I understand you’re going to be stuck with the paperwork for this,” Obi-Wan said. “Too injured to do it myself.”
“That is hardly fair!”
“Should have been a bit more sympathetic, then, young one,” he said, his eyes twinkling with mirth.
“Oh, I’ll show you sympathetic—”

"I Will Always Find You"
Pairing: Cal Kestis x Reader
Summary: Reader and Cal are bonded by the force. Too bad the coucil can't see past her empathic abilities.
Request: No :( but requests are open! especially for this boi.
Warnings: kinda angsty and sad but also fluffy, mean Jedi council.
Author notes: Third person POV and no use of Y/N. Kinda a force mate thing because I love the concept of that. Does anyone else think that they need to embrace some emotions and be people? Idk I feel like peace keepers need to be able to empathize.
Word count: 1,416
Cal Kestis was one of the most caring Jedi she'd ever met. Growing up in the temple, she had been taught that all Jedi were supposed to be kind and gentle. Yet for her, that wasn't the case.
Blessed by the force with gifts the Jedi had not seen in years. Ones they believed could only lead down a dark path.
Emotions are a sensitive topic amongst the Jedi.
First they tried to force it down insides of her. Then attempted purging it from her memory. When they realized it was only growing stronger, the held her in a cell. Punished for something she can't control.
Having trained another who is strong in the force, Master Obi-wan Kenobi did his best to help her understand her powers. To guide her into becoming a strong Jedi knight. He was the first kind Jedi She'd ever met.
After finally showing enough improvment the coucil let her roam the temple. That's when she met him. More like he ran into her.
Somthing happened upon contact. A warmth like no other settled on her mind as she basked in his boyish glee over whatever he was running too or from.
"I'm so sorry!" he had all but shouted. An awkward tint forming on his cheeks.
Not having much contact with peers her age left her clueless as to what comes next. So she settled for smiling and nodding.
A spark formed that day. One neither of them could put out no matter how much they tried. They always found themselves seeking eachother out. Even learning to communicate through the force.
It didn't matter how good at hiding she had become. Years of practice evading her elders and yet he knew where she was.
"I will always find you." That was the first time she'd heard those words. Though at the the time she believed them to be arrogance over winning another game of hide and seek.
She would always know what he was feeling regardless of the distance. He always knew what she was thinking.
There were no secrets between them, no hidden skeletons. Yet he loved her regardless.
He wanted to fight for her. Get the coucil to see her side of things. Begged and pleaded with his master to get them to see her as he does.
Eventually his persistence payed off and he was granted an audience.
The two stood in front of the coucil and pleaded her case. Even with Master Kenobi on their side, it was no use. The Master Jedis in the room could feel the bond between the two padawaans standing before them.
The force flowing between the two, connecting them with invisible strings of fate.
The two of of them could become hazards to themselves and eachother. So they did the only logical thing and forced the two apart. Claiming that she was a danger to Cal and he should not be anywhere near her.
They screamed for eachother. Souls longing for the connection the two shared. A bond that couldn't be broken no matter how hard the coucil tried.
Neither of them understood at the time. Their Masters doing their best to comfort the young children. Both of them feeling a hint of resentment for the coucils decision.
Then she was alone again. Her Master and her best friend ripped away from her by war.
Confined to her room, nothing to do but listen to lectures about why her powers are a danger. How she needs to resist the dark side.
Everytime they felt her connecting to Cal through the force, they berated you. Words of hurt leaving their lips. Words claiming she would cause Cal to fall and having attachments is not the way of the Jedi. How she could never be a Jedi if she continues like this. It stung but she believed them.
She tried to break to bond between them. Spent hours meditating; researching a cure to the invisible line.
All she could find was how they would be better by eachothers side. The force wanted them together for a reason and regardless of what anyone said, she trusted the force to guide her back to him.
She knew they were trying to protect her and Cal. Their fear of the unknown hurting her more then helping.
She felt their uneasiness everytime they came close to her. Dread when she practiced her force abilities.
She knew when they were lying. She even perceived what Master Skywalker's intentions were. The look fear and anger radiating through the force around him made her want to vomit.
She tried to tell them. Tried to get then to run. But her pleas fell on deaf ears.
Irrational. Incompetent. Crazy. Falling for the seduction of the Darkside.
All things said to her that day.
And then it happened.
His rampage on the temple. The genocide of the Jedi.
She'd spoke to Cal earlier. Confessed her fears to him. The words he'd spoken the only comfort she had.
"I will always find you."
She hadn't had time to tell him what was happening. All thoughts now focused on the menacing figure in front of her.
She reached her had out to him. A feeble attempt to sooth his aching soul. It worked just enough to bye her some time to escape. Running to any available transport of the planet.
The encounter had left her exhausted. His strong emotions taking their toll on her mentality.
She felt terrible stealing from the dead, but a lightsaber would be helpful haven the circumstances. So she grabbed the blade off one of the fallen. Running away with the Saber clutched in her grip.
The grief hanging in the air overwhelming enough to make her stumble.
Soon she found transport off world. Stealing to get the credits she needed for the passage.
Cal reached out to her through their bond once more. Saying he was okay but his master has died. Updating her on where he was and what had happened with the clones.
They decided they needed to suppress their bond as much as possible. And force user, whether light or dark, would sense their connection within a ten foot radius. And right now they needed to stay hidden. Try to survive the nightmare.
Occasionally one would reach out to the other. Soothing eachothers aching souls. Reminding eachother they were still alive.
"I will always find you." The words echoed in her mind like a lullaby. Chasing her into restless sleep.
She had found a home on a the swampy planet of Bogano. The force led her here. The reason currently unknow to her but the force hadn't led her astray yet.
Though somtimes the venomous words of the Jedi coucil screamed at her.
"You will bring chaos."
Had this all been her fault? Had she unknowingly changed Master Skywalkers emotions that day? Played with things she could not understand fully?
Tears stream down her face as she recalls the horrible images of what transpired that night. The lifeless bodies littering the ground. The smell of death lingering in every corridor.
She did her best to conceal those feelings. Spending her days training with her new sword. Repeating the stances of those she'd seen others do while sparing.
And then one day five years later a ship arrived.
The invisible strings attaching her to Cal pulled her in the direction of the craft. His force signature growing nearer with each heavy step she took. Her breath faltering as she sprinted through the muddy terrain.
The force wavered and flowed and her emotions ran high. Raging like and untamed ocean. Powerful and overwhelming.
She slowed as she approached the craft. The door opening to reveal him.
He had grown taller. His hair an unruly red mop. But his green eyes and freckles are exactly the same as she remebered.
Tears sprang from her eyes. His relief flooding over her. Her joy spreading through him.
They ran to eachother. Letting the force pull them together until the were finally embracing each other. Cal's hands press against the back of he head and her lower back, pulling her closer to him.
They bask in the feeling of togetherness. The force flowing around them in a symphony of completion. They were once again joined as they should have been all along.
Cal leans back to look at her. Hands now cupping either side of her face. His eyes study her before leaning down to press her forehead against hers.
"I will always find you."

Peli Motto and Din Djarin riding in the droid driven cart through the streets of Mos Espa (Grogu is out of sight), while returning fire on the Pyke syndicate members attacking the city. Image from The Book of Boba Fett, Season 1, Episode 7, In the Name of Honor. Calendar by DateWorks.
The ride through the market streets of Mos Espa was just about the most exciting thing Grogu had done in weeks. People were firing weapons at them. The droid that was pulling the cart was careening down the streets at a high speed. Peli was yelling something at someone. And he was back with dad, the Mandalorian. Yippee!
He’d spent the prior weeks at Luke’s Jedi Sleep Away Camp and it was anything but exciting. Meditation. Lectures. Nature walks. Okay, the nature walks weren’t bad, but then the Kid would on and on about ancient Jedi rules, practices, theories, and all the stuff Grogu had already learned on Coruscant. Wow. That had been dull the first time and now he had go through those same materials with the Kid as if it was fresh and new because that’s what you did for a padawan.
Grogu knew that Luke’s heart was in the right place. He really wanted to be a Jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Mace Windu, or Plo Koon. It was a noble endeavor. The Kid had some talent and he was willing to do the work. Well, most of the work. He was still really caught up about discipline and attachment and all that sort of thing. Apparently he hadn’t started his training until he was well past the age of a youngling, and he’d been told many times that he had to control his emotions, especially fear and anger.
Anger, Grogu could understand. To master your anger took time and practice. To let all the petty things go. To remember that the things that provoked you to anger said more about the person saying or doing them than it said about you. That was tricky. That’s why meditation was important, especially when you were a youngling. But the Kid wasn’t a youngling and he still meditated all the time and didn’t seem to help him much.
Grogu determined that Luke also struggled with fear. Most Jedi did, younglings, knights, masters… it didn’t matter. Fear never left you. You battled it everyday. The problem was that the Kid hadn’t really understood that you don’t master fear. You can’t strike at it with a lightsaber. You do just the opposite. You accept it. You feel it. You know that it is there and then you move on. You do what you need to any way.
It was a pity that the Jedi and the Mandalorians had such a long history of not getting along. The Mandalorians could teach the Jedi a thing or two about fear. It was clear to Grogu after even a brief time with Din Djarin, that the bounty hunter understood fear better than any Jedi Master who had taught him. The focus on the mission was so clear, so real, so meaningful, that Mandalorians brought fear with them wherever they went, not to frighten other people, but as a reminder of why what they did mattered so much. Rather than being a burden it was like another set of armor. The Kid did not understand that.
You can’t just walk into a mudhorn cave looking for it’s eggs thinking that was like shopping in a market square. Far from it. And then you get battered, tossed, stepped on, and worse, but you don’t stop. The mission matters more. Fear reminds you of the mission so you carry on. Okay, that time the Mandalorian had carried on with a little help from Grogu, but Grogu didn’t really want to see the human squashed. He’d seen stuff like that before and it was really hard to heal.
You also can’t tell an ex-Imperial Warlord that they better watch out because you were coming after them for something they took from you and you just weren’t having it without being at least a tiny bit afraid. Even when you have other Mandalorians with you. Even when you have a drop trooper and the best that ever was assassin traveling as part of your strike force. But Din Djarin hadn’t hesitated to threaten Moff Gideon. He knew the other man was afraid of being challenged. Afraid of losing even more of his power. Afraid of failing. Afraid of everything. Yup. Grogu and the Mandalorian knew that Moff Gideon was driven by fear and that was his greatest failing.
Grogu knew that he had to find the Mandalorian and see if Din Djarin could teach his padawan how to better understand and handle fear. Grogu knew it was important to find the master that matched the padawan and he had recognized that he and Luke were not a great match. Particularly when the young human tried to give him a choice between remaining at the Sleep Away Camp or returning to his family. Of course Grogu was going to return. Sleep Away Camp was supposed to be a time to have some fun, a small adventure or two, and just relax. Everyone needed time to do stuff like that. Even Luke.
Now, he was on that crazy cart with his dad and Peli with the syndicates attacking them and the citizenry taking up arms and fighting back and honestly it felt like home. Sure, he was afraid that bad things would happen. They were clearly already happening. But he also knew that he could use that fear as a shield. A reminder that they had a mission and when they completed it they could catch their breath, eat some dung worms and catch up on everything that had happened while he was away at camp.
Maybe he should have brought his padawan with him… Luke could have used a break too.

hello! could you please write something where regressor!Ahsoka involuntarily regresses around Anakin after a stressful mission and she’s really embarrassed because she’s never regressed around him before but he takes care of her and becomes her cg?
( here it is finally! regressed ahsoka and caregiver anakin below the cut. ive kept it kind of a vague ending because I do plan to write more for them.) Ahsoka really hated post-mission comedowns, especially the comedown that followed a mission spent terrified Anakin, or Obi-Wan, or any of the troopers she had slowly begun to see as family were going to end up hurt.
She hated the way everything seemed to fall apart around her, like she was simultaneously still on the battlefield, while the silence around her of her rooms, or the place she hid herself up in seemed to echo around her. It felt like everything around her had tripled in size and she was still just there.
She’d somehow quickly become very acquainted with the torn feeling of not knowing if she wanted company, or if she wanted to hide under her blankets for hours until it all went away.
Anakin of course, would almost definitely comfort her if she was to ask, her Master was hardly one to follow the rules on attachment and limited physical affection, as would Master Kenobi; albeit in a more wordy way. But she felt guilty about it, she was a padawan commander in a war part of Yoda’s lineage, with some of the highest mission stats and recoveries; she should be able to handle all of this.
It’s this same comedown of floaty thoughts and shaky hands that lands Ahsoka curled up on the floor of some empty cupboard room she found, hands wrapping themselves around her arms in an almost bruising attempt at comfort. She felt pathetic, and she felt so horribly lonely.
She’s part-way through another round of a downhill spiral, her face feeling blotchy from crying for the better part of an hour, when she hears the quiet knocking on the closest door.
It startles her for a second, her heart racing as she wonders what time it even was, and who had managed to find her little hideout she’d decided it was.
She fumbles with the door lock for a moment, her hands as shaky as her legs feel right about now. She would so much rather be curled up in her bed asleep, but the idea of leaving was unbelievably horrible.
Her breath hitches as the door opens softly to Anakin standing on the other side, a look of concern that feels almost mismatched on the usually carefree face.
“Ahsoka! I’ve been looking for you, you okay?” Ahsoka and Anakin didn’t do emotions, not really; emotions were hardly any Jedi’s strongsuit no matter their lineage or training.
“Oh. Yeah I’m okay.” She hopes her voice sounds reassuring, but the way Anakin's eyes comb over her face, makes her hyperaware of the former tear tracks that were drying on her cheeks, her face a patchy mess of colour.
“Are you sure? You look… less okay. Kix said you hadn’t stopped by medical yet.” The gentle worry makes Ahsoka’s eyes involuntarily well up with tears again, even as she tries to blink them away. Everything feels wrong, she hates missions.
“Oh ‘Soka.” Anakin said in a quiet utterance, before reaching forward to tug his padawan into a hug. It’s simultaneously the exact thing she wanted, and the worst thing that could possibly happen to her; as she promptly dissolved into distraught sobs.
“It’s okay, kid. After missions are always kriffed up. It’s normal to be upset.” Anakin’s been listening to Kix’s lectures on social interaction, Ahsoka thinks distantly through all this. She still has her head buried in the casual clothing of Anakin's less-formal robes, the material familiar beneath her hands; something almost grounding in the way her entire head feels like it’s been filled with cotton-balls.
She’s not sure how long she stands like that, Anakin’s arms bracketing her into a tight hug, just grounding enough as she sunk into the option of not thinking at all, allowing herself a singular moment of weakness in this all.
Somewhere along the way, they end up on the floor, her body half curled on the floor and against her master still. It felt stupidly like being back in the crèche when this was acceptable; it made her miss it more than anything.
“I’m sorry,” She mutters into Anakin’s shoulder, “I know I’m supposed to be above it, but it hurts and everything feels horrible and I can’t release it into the force, I’m just scared, I just feel…” She trails off as the words escape her, and Anakin makes a contemplative hum beneath her. The vulnerability makes her feel sick, but she knew she could trust Anakin more than anyone else she knew.
“Hey ‘soka, do you feel kinda floaty? Like when Kix gives relaxers?”
“I guess..?”
“Yeah? Like the world sort of is closing in on you?” Anakin sounds almost familiar with the feeling, and Ahsoka has a brief thought of maybe she wasn’t going completely and utterly insane.
She nods info Anakin’s shoulder, and Anakin squeezes her into a tighter hug as she fists the loose material of his outer robe, the actions grounding her back to the moment.
“That’s okay, padawan, it’s okay. I’ll be here as long as you need, yeah? It’s alright.” Ahsoka feels a new wave of tears start again, the full brunt of everything catching up with her all at once; how does she even have more tears left? Anakin runs a hand along her back, muttering soothing reassurances as she buries herself into him.
She didn’t care about what the Jedi would think, or if the men would find her, or what was going to happen next in this endless stupid war; right now all she knew was that Anakin was here and he got it, and he didn’t make her think of logistics and labels and everything; he, and the instant comfort was just there.

sparring with(out) lightsabres
One of the things that bothers me in some portrayals of the Jedi is that they show the Initiates and junior Padawans sparring with real live lightsabres. All of the hand-to-hand sparring I’ve participated in RL has been done wearing protective gear because the risk of injury in a point-scoring contact sport is pretty high compared to something like, say, tennis; the instructors would be remiss in their duty towards their students if they failed to guide them in how to protect themselves and each other from injury. Sparring in martial arts is usually done as a sport; self-defence techniques are practiced on bags and mits because when you train for a real fight you train to injure your opponent as badly as possible (to give yourself an opening to run away). You can kill someone with your bare hands even if you don’t know what you’re doing. Adding live weapons into the mix heightens that risk considerably.
To be clear, this a Doylist problem rather than a Watsonian one; the error has been made by the writers, not the Jedi. And yes, it is an error. Missing from the depiction of a Jedi Order where the Masters routinely do things like set up the angry, insecure teeny-bopper Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bruck Chun in a high-stakes spar with live weapons is the persistent string of fatal training accidents and maimings that would accompany such behaviour.
The Force is not enough to prevent these kinds of accidents. This is demonstrated most clearly and tragically during Order 66; many of the Jedi completely fail to register the new threat from the Clone Troopers because they are focused on the danger presented by the Separatist forces they are engaged with. It wouldn’t be safe to give Yoda’s crècheling class real lightsabres because while they are focused on their remotes they are more likely to lose track of the classmates around them; those “lightsabres” aren’t any more dangerous than the “blaster bolts” the remotes fire. A sparring partner who isn’t trying to hurt you but doesn’t realise you aren’t going to be able block their next strike won’t ping in the same way an ambush from an assassin will; there’s no hostile intent, no new awareness of something travelling towards you.
The Force wouldn’t be enough in a spar like the one between Obi-Wan and Bruck where part of the risk comes from the fact that they are a bullying victim and the bully, two people with a genuine desire to hurt the other. It’s a test to see if they can smother anger and reign-in aggression; if one of them doesn’t then that could lead to a failure to pull back a finishing move in the heat of the moment. This is especially true because what the Jedi teach is martial martial arts, which are significantly more dangerous than sports disciplines that have been modified to make them safer.
Rule of Cool is the main culprit, combined with the desire to increase the tension in a given scene. The forty-five-minute lecture on trigger discipline Obi-Wan gave Luke after watching him stick his nose into the business end of his father’s lightsabre would have rather broken the flow of A New Hope.
I also have some thoughts on a more safety-conscious training structure the Jedi Order might actually use.
There are two main varieties of training blades; holosabres and hard-blades. Holosabres are what Yoda’s crèche class are shown using. The blades are specially designed holograms that can intercept training “blaster bolts”; they are used in reflex and awareness exercises and for blaster-deflection drills. Holosabres can’t be used for contact-sparring because their blades just pass through each other, and everything else. While training with other people, visored headgear is worn because pointing a holosabre into someone’s face risks damaging their eyesight. Hard-blades are for practicing lightsabre-to-lightsabre combat forms. They have rigid light-weight blades and weighted grips so as to better replicate the balance of a real lightsabre. While most Jedi eschew armour even on the battlefield, mouthguards are worn during spars because teeth are full of nerve-endings and are difficult to repair.
The proportion of blaster-focused lightsabre practice Jedi do relative to sabre-to-sabre practice is higher than what we’re shown. After the end of the New Sith Wars the Jedi believed that they were the only lightsabre-wielding Force-adepts left because the Sith had been destroyed; consequently, the vast majority of the enemies they encountered would be trying to shoot them.
Young Jedi aren’t considered ready to train with a real lightsabre until they have built their own. Building your first lightsabre is an integral part of the Initiate Trials that Jedi-in-training must pass before they are chosen as a Padawan. Members of most species undertake the Trials between the ages of ten and twelve standard years old.
There is a progression worked through when training to fight with a lightsabre. First learnt are the solo drills. Then the two-person contactless drills and contactless free sparring. Last of all the contact sparring.
Initiates start from the beginning again once they have built their lightsabre so as to acclimatise to the new weapon. Because Jedi don’t wear armour (and most armour wouldn’t hold up against a lightsabre blade anyway) these stages are progressed through the second time far more slowly than if you were, for example, fencing with foils. Even once Padawans are judged ready to participate in lightsabre contact sparring, for the first year or so they will only spar against the Knights and Masters teaching them for the first year or so rather than peers on their own level; the adult teachers have the skill and experience to be able to protect both themselves and the Padawan.
Padawans and older Initiates are, as a rule, more advanced in their blaster deflection skills than their sparring ones. Because blaster bolt deflection practice carries fewer risks and because it requires less one-on-one time with a teacher students progress faster through it.
Even once Knighted, it’s not unusual for Jedi to sometimes train with a hard-blade rather than their lightsabre. If you and a friend want to properly whale on each other and give each other a good whacking, lightsabres are no good for that. If you want to integrate some fancy Ataru flips into your style, you may revert back to a practice blade until you are confident your attention isn’t being dangerously split. If you’re recovering from an injury, you don’t want to explain to the healers you accidentally burnt yourself during PT.

Rest
The sound of blaster fire began to fade off in the distance. It had been a long fight, but it was finally coming to an end. Cody had taken a special team to take out the droid’s command center, and his success had turned the tide of the battle. Without orders, the droids were easy to finish off, and a few isolated pockets were all that remained of their army. Obi-Wan tuned out the reports from the other divisions, who were all apparently finished, and focused on the battle directly in front of him. They were mopping up the last of the resistance without him, and he jumped down the hill to join the fight.
The first indication that something was wrong was a distant whistling, which rapidly grew louder. “Incoming.” Someone shouted, and everyone scrambled for cover. Reaching out with the Force, Obi-Wan grabbed hold of the two clones closest to the impact site, and yanked them out of the way. He was so focused on getting them clear that he neglected to take cover himself, and the blast knocked him off his feet into the cliffside behind him. Blinding pain tore through his body, and he passed out.
He regained consciousness almost immediately, the echoes of the explosion still ringing off the rocks. A quick inventory revealed that his left ankle was badly sprained, if not broken, and his right arm was definitely broken, the bone visibly crooked. Everything in him wanted to curl up in his bunk, and not move for the next few days. But there was still work to be done, so he turned to the wall, and braced his injured hand against it. Gritting his teeth, he forced the bone back into place. He used the Force to stabilize both his arm and ankle. It wouldn’t do much for the pain, unfortunately, but it would at least prevent him from worsening the injury until he could rest.
Looking around to ensure his squad had all survived the blast, he commed Cody. “What’s our status, Commander?” He had to fight to keep the pain out of his voice.
If Cody noticed anything, he didn’t point it out. “We’re all clear over here. If you’ve finished your section, that should be the last of it. General Skywalker and Commander Tano are on their way to your position, but they’re still a couple of hours out. Most of the wounded are already at the medical tents, but we’re still working on that. What’s your status?”
“We just cleared the last of them.” Obi-Wan took a step as he spoke, starting back up the hill to the medical tents, but had to pause for a moment as pain spiked up his leg. He breathed heavily through it, pushing the pain down and forcing himself to continue.
“General?”
“I’m fine, Cody. Just a little distracted. We have a few injured, but nothing life-threatening. They’ll live. We’re working on getting them to medical right now. I’ll meet you there.”
“Understood.”
Getting the injured to medical was more difficult than expected. The explosion had created a large crater and debris field, and they were unable to get stretchers in to help move those unable to walk. Obi-Wan had to use the Force to lift them clear, which forced him to release his hold on his leg and wrist. He couldn’t focus on both, and he wouldn’t risk dropping his injured men. Getting them up wasn’t too hard, although he struggled to focus over the pain, but when he had to move them was when the real challenge came. The debris field was too large for him to lift them over the whole thing without following them. He nearly screamed from the pain at the first step, but bit his tongue and kept working. His men needed his help.
He was sweating profusely by the time he finished getting the last man clear. A furtive glance around assured him that Cody had not arrived yet. As much as he enjoyed working with his commander, he was dreading his arrival, because he knew Cody would lecture him on neglecting his own health. A few deep breaths, and a quick drink of water, and he ducked into the medical tents to help. Even if the battle hadn’t been especially deadly, there were still many injuries to care for, and the medics were always overworked. A childhood spent in a war zone had taught him quite a lot of battlefield skills, and he moved among his men, helping to set and wrap broken bones, bandage wounds, and hold the hands of those too far gone for help.
It was hard work on a good day. Being surrounded by that much pain always threatened to overwhelm him, and he had to focus on releasing the emotions before they could build up too high. Exhausted from battle and already dealing with the pain of his own wounds, he internalized far more of it than he would normally allow himself to, all without realizing it. His ankle throbbed with every step he took, tension building in his neck. His wrist ached, and his head throbbed. And he pushed on. He would not let himself rest until his men were cared for, no matter how long that took.
He knew Cody was back, had felt his Force signature drawing closer even through the haze of pain. A small part of his mind kept searching for Anakin and Ahsoka. He knew they were fine, but it always helped when he could feel them near. He knew they weren’t due to be back for a while yet, but he wanted to be aware when they arrived.
He was so busy working, and so buried under the pain that he didn’t notice Anakin’s arrival until he burst into the tent, Cody hot on his heels. “Master, what’s wrong with you?”
Cody and Anakin both looked panicked. “I’m fine.” He replied, a vain attempt to calm them both.
“You are not!” Anakin argued back hotly. “I could feel your pain for miles away. You’re injured, and you’re refusing to take care of yourself. Healing isn’t safe for you right now. You need to rest and mediate. You’ve absorbed far too much, and if you don’t release it soon, it will be too late.”
Cody took his arm and pulled it over his shoulders, taking some of the weight off his injured ankle. “You can rest now, General. We’ve got this.”
Their presence settled over him like a blanket and he let himself fall into it. They could handle this. He wasn’t alone. He could rest. He sagged into Cody’s arms, and allowed himself, finally, to rest.

I could just see Cody, the day he gets a message from Rex about “accidentally fixing the Empire and it’s all fine now, he can come back”, doing exactly that, spitting out his tea, but then he’d take a deep breath, getting ready to give his favorite Captain a long lecture on pranks and how bad of an influence the domino twins must have been if Rex is now trying to prank Cody, but he doesn’t get a chance to because a very dramatic trio bursts down his door too.
It’s Captain Rex, Obi wan, and Admiral Tano of the “formerly Empire, now just the rebellion” governmental system. And Cody can feel his tension migraines returning as he realizes they’re there because he basically ran half the GAR, because they were too dramatic and destruction oriented and needed someone slightly more sane to do it, and now they need someone slightly less destructive and slightly more sane to run the Galaxy, so would Cody mind maybe running for Chancellor? Rex and Ahsoka are sure they could convince the rebels to vote for him. Especially if they can get the clones citizenship and a representative in the senate in time for the vote. And someone points out maybe Howzer would be a good representative, he’s great at speeches!
And DANK FERRIK why did Obi age almost as fast as the clones?!?!? He concludes it must be the stress of making sure the Skywalker clan doesn’t accidentally destroy the galaxy because they forgot how strong with the force they are and returns to the important question at hand…
Cody contemplates throwing his whole body at the trio still standing in his doorway and flattening them so he doesn’t have to deal with it, just like he used to with commando droids and anything else dangerous the war threw at him. But he doesn’t because they used their puppy dog eyes and now they’re all piling into the ship that’s piloted by an asthmatic goth who’s really dedicated to aesthetic and apparently the best pilot in the galaxy? Cody’s pretty sure he’s just along for the ride now that they’re heading back to Coruscant for a big party in the capital just like they used to do at 79’s and Cody just stares at Rex confused as to how his little bro managed to accidentally save the Galaxy.
So Rex laughs and tells him “you think it’s hard to believe now, just wait” and launches into a long winded retelling that sounds so much like something Rex would actually do, that Cody is even more confused as to whether this is real or still just an elaborate prank. *sigh* he guesses he will find out when they get to Coruscant, until then all he can do is listen to Rex’s story, just like old times…
WHAT IF ANAKIN NEVER REMOVED REX FROM THE SYSTEM AFTER ORDER 66
Like, Anakin might not know that Rex defected. He promoted Appo but technically Appo’s still second in command of the 501st, under Rex (Rex is still listed as a Captain because Anakin is really really fucking awful at paperwork). And then when Rex doesn’t show up, the obvious conclusion is that he’s dead, but Anakin still doesn’t let him get listed as MIA or KIA because that’s HIS CAPTAIN, dammit, and he’s lost Ahsoka, Padme, Obi-Wan, and literally everything else he ever cared about, he doesn’t want to face having lost Rex, too. And he works better with Rex than with anyone else (mostly because Rex has become accustomed to his bullshit and is Very Good at taking Anakin’s spectacularly stupid nonsense and Making It Work), and really he can’t picture leading the 501st with anyone OTHER than Rex at his side.
And then Rex keeps not coming back. But Vader still doesn’t remove him from the system. For years and years. And eventually everyone stops mentioning it to him because they tend to get force-murdered if they do.
So long story short, Rebels-era Rex is technically the commanding officer of Vader’s Fist, and the system still recognizes his codes and lets him in, and technically if he walked up to any stormtrooper while wearing his old helmet, the networks would recognize him and tell the stormtrooper that’s your CO. So if Rex realized this, he could just waltz in and take control of the most feared stormtrooper legion in the galaxy and as long as Vader wasn’t around, no one would stop him (they’d all be very confused, but they wouldn’t stop him). And maybe vader walks up at this point like “what the hell is going on here” and sees Rex and is just like “REX there you are where the FUCK have you been?” and Rex is like “uuuhhhh i had engine trouble on the way back from Mandalore” and it’s been 20 years but Vader knows how shitty Rex is at piloting and really anything involving flying and ships so he’s like “sounds legit”
#wait it’s not done yet#y’all forgot Cody#i fixed it#he’s in the story now too#that better?#Star Wars fix it au#because it is funny that like all the top rebels and imperials were once besties#so let’s just AU our way back to that ans solve a galaxy of problems#get in bitches we’re going to completely ignore canon#star wars

When his padawan contacts him via com in the middle of the night Obi-Wan thinks that there must be an emergency.
Instead he is greeted with cheerful gibberish that he can barely decipher as Anakin’s voice.
“Hey Ma- hey can you pick me uh up? I was having a drink, I mean not a drink drink but uhhhh I was hanging out with the other padawans and uhhh I wanted to go to bed but I somehow… I’m lost. Master please I want you to pick me up.”
After an excruciating back and forth of navigation, slurs and laughing fits on Anakin’s side Obi-Wan finds his protégé on the other end of the temple.
At first Anakin insists on walking back to his quarters unassisted. After he smashes his head against the temple wall for the third time, Obi-Wan loses his temper and picks Anakin up.
Carrying Anakin like this reminds Obi-Wan of their first training sessions. His very young apprentice would demand exercises until his legs gave in and his Master had to carry him to dinner, sometimes straight to bed. Obi-Wan chuckles tiredly. „Hm? Did you say something?“ Obi-Wan ponders whether he should share his reminiscence. He should actually use the opportunity to scold his padawan for drinking. A good guardian would do that.
The first option is promptly discarded – he wouldn’t get all sappy, wallowing in memories, in front of his plastered apprentice.
“You are getting too big for this, Anakin.” Is all he mumbles. The silence between them stretches. Before Obi-Wan can decide on a mild follow up lecture on discipline and Jedi values the momentum to effectively scold his padawan has passed. It would have been quite pointless anyway; he is actually glad to see Anakin enjoy his youth for once, to be happy for once.
They step outside to cross the training ground. Obi-Wan is sure that Anakin has long been asleep on his shoulder when his padawan whispers, barely audible „I want to sleep in your bed.“
Obi-Wan freezes. He needs a moment to collect himself. When Anakin was younger he’d let him sleep in his bad after especially bad nightmares. But he’s an adult now. Can’t he see how this might be a misleading demand? He curses Anakin for bringing this up so carelessly, for drinking too much in the first place, for forcing him to chew the meaning of this certainly meaningless request over and over when he will lie alone in bed tonight. Most of all, he curses himself for his torturing thoughts. The moment Obi-Wan granted himself is over, he takes a deep breath.
„You are getting too old for this, Anakin.“ Obi-Wan says with all the dignity he can muster. The response, the only sound in the crystal clear night, is a muffled chuckle.
„Let me share in your joy.“ Obi-Wan sighes, hoping to change the topic.
„That’s not what I was suggesting,“ Anakin exhales deeply in a noticeable attempt to appear sober „so I wouldn’t have expected that response, that’s all... If anything I would’ve expected something along the lines of ‚You aren’t old enough for this, Anakin.‘ you know?“ He adds with feigned nonchalance. Anakin must be drunker than Obi-Wan assumed.
Obi-Wan is silent.
Anakin, to their mutual ruin, is not.
„Do you follow me?“ Anakin asks impatiently. „I was suggesting that –”
„I heard you,“ Obi-Wan interrupts with growing frustration „but I chose not to follow. Do you understand me?“ „Yes… Sorry, Master. I just-“
„You are forgiven, my dear apprentice, and you should really stop talking.“ Obi-Wan wants to add that The shame you’ll feel tomorrow after you’ve sobered up will be atonement enough. But Anakin won’t get it – not until tomorrow that is. They finally arrive at the padawan’s room. Obi-Wan lets Anakin down and opens the door for him to stumble into his room and shortly after, very audibly, into his bed.
“The next time you think about drinking, I want you to remember this night and the morning after.“ Anakin doesn’t seem to listen anymore. „But before that, get some sleep.“
„Mhhhmm good night, Master. I love you.“
„Good night, Anakin.“
After closing the door Obi-Wan heads for his own quarters. In the end he didn’t even have to scold his padawan for him to learn his lesson about drinking. Yet he doesn’t feel like a good guardian.

I have a mental vision of a specific modern AU fic.
So POV is Obi-Wan, and his focus is of course on his little brother, Anakin. Anakin's a college student who is as thrifty as he can be while sticking to the health-and-hippie guidelines Obi-Wan raised him with. He eats organic and fresh and usually shops farmer's markets, because Obi-Wan's given so many 'we're on a road-trip, let's share our interests' lectures about how the solution to most major environmental and animal welfare concerns is to buy locally from small businesses, especially for food concerns. Anakin usually buys expensive things only if it's also really long, long-lasting stuff. e.g. he goes expensive-for-quality on shoes and jeans, buuuuuuut for t-shirts he just goes with something reasonably-priced that's still natural materials because, again, Obi-Wan has doled out a lot of hippie-style wisdom. I definitely see Anakin going for Patagonia cotton shirts (bought on clearance), while Obi-Wan is over in luxury organic linen and small-farm wool sweater vests.
Except suddenly Anakin's walking around with a new leather jacket ('It's veg-tan, Obi-Wan, not chromium, I swear!'), and a diamond necklace ('they're just zircon, Obi-Wan, stop bugging me'), and a new part for his motorbike that Obi-Wan could have sworn Anakin was still months away from earning ('I just got a good deal on it from the guy that sold it to me, he needed some software dealt with and I was better at it than he was'), and overall it's just... Anakin's coming into a lot of expensive stuff recently.
Obi-Wan's worried.
Is Anakin into something illegal? Did he join a gang? Is he stealing from banks overseas? Are there drugs involved? Obi-Wan works himself into a tizzy about Anakin and his definitely illegal dealings and finally confronts him about it after a few attempts at getting the answer more subtly.
Anyway, turns out Anakin's a sugar baby now and these expensive items were all the aforementioned sugar. He started dating someone who comes from a lot of money and just, you know, he's not going ot turn down gifts from someone who likes giving them to him.
I just really want sugar baby Anakin, and Obi-Wan is very convinced that Anakin's doing something incredibly illegal to get the money because, well, Anakin's got a bit of a history and Obi-Wan worries.
(Obi-Wan starts pearl-clutching about Anakin's innocence, and Anakin just shoots back that Obi-Wan was definitely sugar-babying for the Organas back when Anakin was in high school.)
Probably the rich new lover is Padme, but it could feasibly be just about any ship. I kind of want to see what rich boy Rex or Cody would be like. We could just say they won the lottery after getting out of the military, or maybe we parallel Jango's role as former Mand'alor to some big rich title. IDK.

He thought that was it– that they’d agreed not to fall for each other. Except, Anakin had already fallen. He’d fallen for Padmé. He’d fallen from Obi-Wan’s steep expectations, brushing them off as if they didn’t matter when it came to her. It was almost as if his master didn’t try anymore, aside from the occasional scolding or lecture that didn’t really go anywhere. He reminded Anakin that he made a serious commitment to the Jedi Order, but Anakin didn’t see how that was relevant. It’s not like his love would jeopardize how good at being a Jedi he was– he could save people and still love her. Why would being a Jedi matter, if he couldn’t truly love others?
He just wants to dream about Padmé– be around her, smell that floral scent that lingers in the air whenever she passes. He wants to hear her sweet voice saying such smart things that he can’t believe she chose a career as a politician. She’s too good for the Senate; too good for the world. And he loves her, even if she wanted him to try not to.
The way she looks at him almost makes him shy, even if he’d like to think it’s only because she caught him pleasuring himself. That would be embarrassing with anyone, but especially with the woman who had just rejected him– the most beautiful woman in the galaxy.
But Padmé seems entranced by what’s happening, swept up in the same way she was when he looked at her on the veranda, their gazes locked as something magnetic swept between them. Then she speaks, teasing him in such a low voice that he can’t believe his ears. It makes him ache, swallowing as he looks up at her. “Of course I was, M’lady… You’re so beautiful that I needed relief.” It’s raw honesty, his blue eyes giving away his emotions as he looks up at her.
It wasn’t the first time he touched himself to the thought of her and it likely wouldn’t be the last. Anakin had never felt this with anyone but Padmé– this burning need, possessing his body and making him a slave to his urges. He couldn’t help himself around her, getting hard each time. It was already enough to deal with the depth of his feelings for her; how he admired everything from her steadfast kindness to the way her smile was the most beautiful thing in the galaxy.
“But, for you…” he repeats how she’d said it, looking up at her hopefully, blue eyes smoldering. “I didn’t realize it serviced you. I thought you decided we wouldn’t do such things behind closed doors.” His fingers don’t move for a long moment, almost punishingly. Punishing her for trying to delay their inevitable desires. Punishing himself for being so weak for her, losing himself to that all consuming love that Obi-Wan lectured him against. Again, he pushes it down; suffocates the mere thought. To be a Jedi is to love– they’re wrong. Anakin knows they are; they have to be.
He wouldn’t be able to live if he passed up on this opportunity with her. How could he breathe? And besides, if Jedi couldn’t love then what was the point? Where would he put all of this burning passion and emotion, trying desperately to free itself from his chest?
At her question he almost becomes shy, his hand still paused as blue eyes look up into hers. It feels dirty, how she asks, and he likes it. He feels like he’s burning under the intensity of her gaze, every nerve lighting up with pleasure that she notices him in such a way. All he wanted was her love– his attraction for her returned. “I can’t help it,” he admits, almost petulantly. “How else am I supposed to survive my desire for you?” It’s true she made him hard, just as much as she stirred something beautiful and strong in his soul. “Master would be angry with me but I know he’s wrong– Jedi can love. If we didn’t, how would we do all that we do? I-I feel something for you that I’ve never felt and this is the only way, Padmé…” His voice becomes emotional again but his desire distracts him from the familiar pain of not having her. He moves his fingers again, starting to touch himself while she watches. It makes him shiver, an almost inaudible moan leaving his full lips because it doesn’t feel real that she likes it.
She must, or why would she be staring? And then she continues on, explaining her feelings, baring her soul to him. His eyes widen a little, distracted from his pleasure and listening to her. It always astounds him, how often she puts others first. But he understands, in a sense– his entire life has been putting everyone else first. He couldn’t even see his mother, who was a slave. All he’d wanted to do was free her, but duty binds him. The whims of others keep him here.
“You deserve happiness, Padmé,” is the first sentence that leaves his lips, because it’s how he feels. He knows that she truly deserves the world. She could change the galaxy even more and he’s grateful she’s doing so; the Republic would be worse off without her, and then what would happen to the people? It already has so many flaws in the system; ones Anakin can’t understand. “Maybe it would destroy us… but it would also destroy me not having you.” He looks at her lips, then her beautiful face again. “I could be your secret, if you ever wished it.”
She’s wearing a beautiful white nightgown, one that’s slipping off her shoulder as she crawls onto his bed. It’s so revealing that it reminds him of the beautiful dress she wore earlier. How it hugged her curves and pushed her breasts up, making her the most beautiful creature in the universe. Not that she already wasn’t, of course. He swallows at her nearness; the way her pretty face leans in towards his. “I… I was thinking about when we kissed on the veranda and the way you admitted you feel something for me.” He slides his thumb across his tip, watching her carefully, eyes clouded with lust. “And how beautiful your body looked in that dress. How beautiful you look all the time.”
But she wants more than that– she wants to know what he wants from her. “My punishment should be whatever you feel is appropriate, m’lady. I pushed your boundaries earlier… I touched myself when I should’ve been alert for you. I’m sorry.” And he means it, even though there’s an undercurrent of exasperation; frustration that she tried to resist him even though she wanted this too. “I wondered what it would be like if you crawled on top of me, when we were on the couch…”
padmé knows that this is wrong, that she shouldn't be looking at him like this let alone speaking to him in such a manner that might allude to the fact that she wants more with him right after she'd just told him that they could never happen. what would he think of her for taking back her word? of her being a liar? it's a thought that lingers in her mind as she watches him with close eyes and biting down on her bottom lip.
her chest is pounding, so loud that for a moment she fears that the jedi might hear it. she can tell he's embarrassed too, not that she blames him...he'd just been caught but it's also hard not to find him kind of endearing like this, vulnerable and exposed, his cheeks roseier than usual which makes her own body feel like it's on fire even more so when he says her name in attempt to explain himself. "you were what? touching yourself for me?" she says in a soft seductive voice as the smirk tugs at the corners of her lips.
they were all alone, just she and him in this beautiful home. it's was like just for a moment she wasn't a senator or a former queen and he wasn't the jedi sent to protect her because she had price on her head. "do you normally do this when you're all alone? touch yourself to the thought of me even knowing you can't have me? fantasizing about touching me when you shouldn't? " she says softly stepping closer as he robe falls off shoulder a little, exposing her skin as dark eyes watch him.
her body feels as though it has a mind of it's own at this point, she can't control her own needs as much as she knows she has to. but she thinks about all the times her sister sola told her that she should allow herself to want things, stop fighting her feelings all the time. being a senator didn't mean padmé had to be emotionless and as scared as she was she was also tired.
he's right about two things she should've knocked but it's not as though she exactly expected to see him in a compromising position but he's also right she was having second thoughts as soon as he walked away from her. "you're right, I came here because I wanted to talk about what happened but..." she pauses. "I've never been good at saying how I feel because I spent so much time convincing myself that feelings were a waste of time that I couldn't be good to my people if I thought about myself and for so long that was an easy thing to do...and then you came back into my life." he made her weak and it was scary but her doe eyes watch as his fingers take his length again, pushing his pants down completely to show himself to her and her eyes can't look away or fight the desire that's burning her up. "what do you think your punishment should be? perhaps you shouldn't be allowed to cum...being you over the edge until your begging for more? she walks even closer inside until she's crawling onto the mattress as she leans in closer to his face. "tell me what you were thinking about ani before I came in...maybe I'll help you fulfill your fantasy."

You’ve mentioned several times about Anakin having ADHD. What led you to that conclusion? I don’t think I’ve seen that interpretation before.
I mean, it may just be because I suffer with the disorder, too, but I headcanon that Anakin has ADHD because he can:
1). Hyperfocus when really invested in something or someone, but apparently forgetful when not-Remembers every detail and step when someone or something is really interesting to him, such as building droids, Padme, Obi-Wan, Palpatine, his mother, looking for Luke, his childhood, piloting space fighters, or sparring in a duel, but then gets bored and zones out in lectures about procedures and politics.
2). Superiors get frustrated with him because he tends to listen to his gut on how tasks should be completed that they ask of him, especially if he can think of a way to do it faster-Anakin learned to become Darth Vader through negative influences from pretty much every adult authority figure in his life with the exception of his mother. However, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and even Sidious got frustrated with him frequently as his teachers because he would try to carry out the tasks they asked of him in his way before completing tasks in the ways they asked of him. For instance, not following Obi-Wan’s directions about going along the route to catch the assassin in AOTC because he knows a short cut. Sidious gets frustrated because he doesn’t always do things in the way he asks.
3). Tends to thrive and stay on task better in a high pressure job where he has to cooperate with others and be held accountable by them for his performance throughout his shifts-Sure, he’s often thrust in to those positions without much of a say, but I also can’t imagine that Anakin would thrive as a remote employee at home or a leader without a supervisor either. He’d get bored, lose motivation, and lose focus. He needs a job where he’s serving some sort of cause, group, or organization. He needs a job in which he has clear cut goals and instructions. He needs a job working with other people who will remind him to stay on task. He tends to struggle with direction in environments without structure.
4. Good at coming up with plans in the moment on the battlefield, but struggles with execution with long-term plans-He comes up with this seemingly great plan to recruit Luke to the dark side, but he’s not subtle about in regards to his son at all, nor did he think it through as well as he thought he did as we see on Bespin.
5. Impatient -Both before becoming Vader and afterwards, Anakin is a very impatient person. He gets frustrated when the things he wants to happen or sets out to do don’t just happen right away, and self-sabotages with his impatience.
For instance, he wants Luke to join the dark side, so he’ll help free him from Palpatine, they can overthrow him, and then bond together ruling the galaxy. However, he actually makes it more unlikely for Luke to want to join him at all by first cutting off his hand when he refuses the first time, and then following it up with why he was doing it.
Has a tendency to force choke the admirals who refuse to listen to him to get things done.
That scene in AOTC where he takes the shortcut to find the assassin is another example.
6) Procrastinates-Tends to get stuff done at the last minute. In some SW content, such as SW TCW 2003, Anakin has been shown as being late to meetings, which isn’t uncommon for people with ADHD.
